An asda delivery van reversed into the front of our new ca, this wasn't witnessed by ourselves but our neighbour who heard a bang looked out to see the driver looking at the front of our car and then driving of. Asda are now accepting no liliability saying their driver knows nothing about it and leaving us with an undrivable car. We've explored loads of avenues and are getting nowhere. Please help we are desperate, any info advice would be hugely appreciated

Re: Asda delivery van hit our car
Hi and welcome.
As this is a new car, presumably you have it insured comprehensively? If so claim on your own insurance.
Could you please give us more details about what avenues you have explored.
Reported it to the police? The driver of the offending vehicle has committed an offence by leaving the scene of an accident without leaving his insurance details.
Is the neighbour prepared to make a written statement about the incident?
How long ago was the incident?

Re: Asda delivery van hit our car
No forensic evidence, a rubber strip on the rear of tge van left a muddy mark some scratches and dents but tge rear mountings have been pushed up into the engine cooling system and electrics hence the reason we have been advised not to drive the car, but as we are a couple with a young family we really need it

Re: Asda delivery van hit our car
Please check your car insurance policy. Does it include legal cover? If it does then phone the insurance company they will put you in touch with a good legal firm... Alas I suspect you are unlikely to get much joy with the constabulary, I could be wrong however, so the way forward would be a legal firm, won't affect your insurance policy either from what I remember.... :tongue2:Originally posted by mattyt2009 View PostNo forensic evidence, a rubber strip on the rear of tge van left a muddy mark some scratches and dents but tge rear mountings have been pushed up into the engine cooling system and electrics hence the reason we have been advised not to drive the car, but as we are a couple with a young family we really need it

They won't take action in case of 'material damage only'...Originally posted by mattyt2009 View PostNo one was hurt so it's not in the public interest apparently

Re: Asda delivery van hit our car
With ASDA you have to keep plugging away at Customer (dis)services and transport manager.
Start talking about social media (they are adverse to bad publicity!)
What are the police doing, as you have registration number they should be following it up.
Have Asda given you their insurers details, if not put a claim in to Motor Insurers Bureau (http://www.mib.org.uk/NR/rdonlyres/0...v2013Final.pdf) they take their time, but it may spark ASDA's ib=nsurers into action.
Here's a link to another poster who had a similar problem a year ago: http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...thank+you+asda

Re: Asda delivery van hit our car
It's a straight civil claim for damages so balance of probability and it doesn't matter what size the company is as it's a simple matter for your local court.... However, When I had a similar experience I used the legal cover on my car insurance (the 92 year old gentleman in question had smashed my car in the Irish Republic complicating things) and it is very effective...Originally posted by mattyt2009 View PostThinking legal advice is the way to go. Appears to be a case of big company small person hope they'll go away after a while or that's how it's starting to feel
