Hey guys I'm obviously new to this as you can see... Found out about this from a friend who had a v similar problem to me, so I hope you guys can help.
Basically I'm having trouble it a certain retailer who, as I've just discovered, is notorious when it comes to online customer service.
You guessed it! It's CEX.
I ordered 3 items from them a few days ago, and they were scheduled for delivery by UPS yesterday. I ordered 2 games, and as I have some friends visiting, in our college days we played the game "Rock Band". I thought it would be fun to pick it up cheap and have a go all these years later. So I bought the "band in a box" bundle, which contains a faux guitar, drum kit and mic.
Anyway.
When UPS arrived, the packages were wrapped in bubble wrap and black bin bags... Which was odd.
Upon opening the package, I discovered that the 2 games were missing. I emailed CEX to which I got an automated response. Then I discovered the head of the guitar was snapped off. I didn't really mind - it was purely aesthetic. Then upon testing everything, I discovered the guitar doesn't work at all. The drums work for about 5-10 minutes before turning off. The mic is fine.
I tweeted CEX about the problem. They asked for the order number which I promptly gave... Then I received no more communication from them.
After reading online about other people's experiences, I became paranoid that I wasn't going to get the problem fixed/angry at CEX's incompetence. Upon reading their returns policy, it says to basically send everything back in the same condition it arrived so they can test it. Then decide if they will refund or replace the item.
So I should send it back wrapped in bubble wrap and bin bags right?
My games are missing. The peripherals are broken. CEX aren't responding to me, and sending it all back, and waiting for it to be tested etc etc is going to take a long time + leave me out of pocket. Plus they might begin saying that I broke the stuff. That it was fine when they had it etc etc.
I'm supposed to wait 3-5 working days for an initial response, and I just spent £50 on this stuff. It's not a huge amount of money to most, but for something that I just wanted to have fun with my mates with,it's just messed it up. And now I'm afraid it's just going to get swept under the rug.
What should I do?
