I left Dubai in Jan 2005 and today have received a very agressive letter from the above concerning an alleged Credit Card Debt to a UAE bank. this was paid in full before I left and until today I have had no contact to say they think debt is outstanding despite them contacting me now on my UK address which has been the same for more than 20 years. Anyone got any advice/helpful info?

Even though it's coming up to 10 years, in Dubai the limitation period is generally 15 years rather than 6. However, you say you repaid this debt, have you got any paperwork regarding this payment? Even if you don't, I'd still be writing to them saying the debt was paid in full and mentioning any details you can remember, for example "I went to the branch to pay" or "I sent a cheque by post", etc.
