1st capitol are chasing me for money from halifax Ł2700 of bank charges

hi i am being chase for bank charges that halifax wouldnt stop adding to my account they now total more than Ł2700 and 1st capitol now own the dept in light of the out come of the taunton court case does this make a difference to weather or not the charges where actualy legal due to fairness
