    Lowell and CapQuest Investments Ltd have posted debs over 6 years old on credit file

    Hi Everyone here

    i know that lowell and maybe cap quest are not popular on this site and to add to that they harried my parents for about 6 months calling up and demanding money or pretending to be my friend and asking for my number , nasty but apparently legal behaviour according to the cops .?

    any way i know find they have some how re registered debts that have been inured over 8 years ago as having occurred only one year ago ? is there any way that these can be removed as i thought 6 years was the limit on debts ?

    This sounds rather odd! I am no expert on this but I do believe that once a debt has dropped off your credit file after 6 years it cannot be put back on. I am sure one of the clever Beagles will clarify the situation and advise how to sort this out.

          There was a court ruling last year when the Judge stated that as the debt still exists then its OK AND further stated that posting a default does not constitute an attempt to recover an non-recoverable debt However many disagree including the OFT who do see the registering of default as an attempt at recovery of a time barred debt. The idea is that they will make it difficult for the former debtor to obtain credit
