  • Vanquis card

Hi I'm new to the forum, but have been reading messages about vanquis credit cards so decided to become a member.
I stupidly decided to apply for a vanquis credit card to rebuild my credit history. I applied online a couple of weeks ago. They said someone would contact me for further details. I received a text message as I missed a call to ring them which I did. When I rang they asked me to post proof of address to process my application. I did this by sending a bank statement by post on 13th June 2014. I sent this by special delivery so they had to sign for it. I have the post office receipt of proof of postage. I haven't heard anything for nearly 2 weeks. In these 2 weeks I decided against getting the card and rand Vanquis today to request they pits my bank statement back to me and informed I did not want to enter into any agreement for a card. The girl who I spoke to couldn't tell me where my bank statement was after 2 weeks. She said it can take up to 10 days. I again I said I did not want a card only my statement back. She suggested I put a complaint in and someone will get back to me within 24 hours. Now I am fearful as to where my bank statement is or who has it. I later called my bank and explained the situation to be reassured vanquis caning access my account or set up a DD without my permission, I'm still worried though after resting all the posts about how unscrupulous these people are. I would not trust them and if this is the trouble I am having with Vanquis and I haven't even got a card
Can they do anything with my bank account details help !!!
