  • Howdy all - Vodafone issues

    Hello everybody peeps,

I had a phone upgrade a couple of months ago and the deal was a free phone and 27.50 per month line rental.

I got an invoice through my door about a month ago for the phone so I phoned them to find out what's going on. They assured me that even though they invoiced me, they've put a credit on my account for the same amount so no money should change hands.

I now discover they charged me for the phone in error and have taken nearly £200 out of my bank account, so I phoned them and they admitted the money was taken from my account and that someone would ring me yesterday to confirm when the money would be put back in but it can take 7-10 working days.

Needless to say Vodafone didn't ring so I rang them, they are now saying that I agreed to be charged for the phone. I know this is not correct because I remember confirming with the online advisor in the chat box to the free phone and 27.50 per month deal.

They told me they were going to launch an investigation which takes 5-7 day and then I suppose it's going to be 7-10 working days from then until I get the money back that they've essentially stolen from my account.

Is there anything I can do/what shall I do?

    thanks in advance

    Pete

Have you got he screen scrapes from when you talking to the advisor if so make sure you keep a copy . and if you have a copy of the contrct make sure you download it and keep a hard copy . These things have a babit of mysteriously changing . Send them a subject data acees request with £10 and you should geta all the data they have on you and this should include transcripts or recordings of the phone clls . Best to deal with them in writing or at the very least record everything .
