  • Hello Everyone.

    Hello All!

I thought I'd do the polite thing first and introduce myself.

My name's Stuart, people can call me whatever they want I'm fine with abbreviations of my name.

I'll be honest I find myself joining today for the sole reason of advice, and this forum came up a lot on the search results for various searches I was doing.

I have recently been made redundant and I think I've been unfairly treated in the handling of the redundancy, as the company was and still is advertising for my position before and after they have made me redundant.

So here's hoping someone can give me some definitive answers.

    Thanks in advance

    Stuart

    Re: Hello Everyone.

Welcome Stuart. When my other half was made redundant a couple of years ago after being with the same company for almost 20 years (!) we thought our world had come apart. He was the only bread winner and we have two young kids so stress was through the roof!! Rather than the company doing the decent thing they tried to screw him over (long story).

2/3 years down the line if we came across the same people in management would instigated his redundancy we would shake them by the hand and give them a HUGE hug. They did us the biggest favour. We are in such a better place now. I am no longer afraid of asking my hubby how his day at work has been, he is a much happier and relaxed person which has a ripple effect on the whole family. To boot he is now earning 3 times more than he used to.

So my advice to you is things happen for a reason and although these days seem dark and stressed stick 'two fingers up' to the idiots who let you go and move on. Don't give them the satisfaction of getting the best of you.

    Take care

    Ruby
