  • Hi All :)

Never thought I'd being doing this but....

A while back my parents were contacted by a company called "Past Due" who claimed that my Father had run up a debt with BT. The debt was for an address where they have never lived. After phoning Past Due and telling them this they were asked to prove they had lived in their current address for as long as they had claimed they did (30+ years) by sending Council Tax bills... My Parents did so and thought it would all be sorted out, however, Past Due are again harassing them. I phoned them up to explain we had sent off the requested documents and that they should have received them, first time I called I was told the guy who was dealing with it wasn't there, second time I was told that the documents had been sent to BT and third time I was told they hadn't received them!!

I'm at my wits end as to what to do... It's obvious somebody has stolen my fathers name in order to get services from BT and when we informed the local Police they were less than useful... But our real concern is Past Due who, despite our attempts to prove my father's innocence, won't give in. My Father is 68 years old and had suffered 4 heart attacks (a fact of which I made Past Due aware but they didn't seem to give a monkey's!) he really doesn't need this stress.... Can anybody help me with what I could do next?

    Thank you in advance...

    Re: Hi All

Ask for details of the alleged contract between your father and BT. Tell them that the claim is denied and any further contact, save the letter with the alleged contract, will be classed as harassment and action will be taken against them.
