Nothing would surprise me about Muck Hall but if they claimed to be solicitors then that would be a criminal offence.
Never worry about them taking you to court. The only time they will see the inside of a court room will be as defendants

To the best of my knowledge and belief, any business collecting debts is required to hold a Category F Debt Collection Licence issued by OFT Credit Licensing. OFT Credit Fitness assess and monitor licence-holders' or prospective licence-holders' fitness to hold or continue to hold a licence. Certificated bailiff companies who also collect non-public debt are required to be licensed. However, many public debt collection contracts contain a requirement that certificated bailiff companies tendering for such contracts must hold a valid and current OFT Debt Collection Licence.

Was the agreement with BH made as the result of a court judgement? Also, you need to find out if Mucky have bought the debt outright or are simply collecting on behalf of BH.

thanks bb, the agreement was with BH, the called me (eventually) after tracking me down , because i had not been paying the loan. it was agreed on the phone that all i could pay was £20.00 a month,i have had correspondence since showing how much i have paid and how much is left to pay, its since this that MH have become involved and now they say they are seeking full payment !

Unfortunately, Beeb, it does need to be established what rights Mucky Hall have with regard to the outstanding amount. When BH send you the correspondence, did they confirm in writing that they were happy to accept £20.00 per month? If anything, BH need to explain why Mucky Hall are now involved. Was the loan regulated under the CCA 1974-2006?
