please advise if possible this is really getting to me now . i took a loan out with black horse @ 5 years ago for a car, i was self employed and was making payments ok , then i had an accident and have not been able to work, i stopped the payments to black horse as i just never had the money, eventually they tracked me down i explained what had been happening and acknowlaged that i was behind with the payments they agreed to let me pay £20.00 per month and this i have been doing for the last 18 months , today i got a call from a company called mackenzie hall and they are basically threatening me with a visit if i do not come up with the full arrears i owe . i know i owe them but i cant pay any more as i am only getting £70.00 per week and i have utilities and food to pay. my question is , can they do this as i have been keeping up my part of the agreement with black horse as in ,i agreed to pay £20.00 per month until i could afford more ! please can you help ? thank you , BEEB.

Re: mackenzie hall
First of all please do not speak to them on the phone in writing.
I had the same and challanged them to "prove it"
There are templates on site you can look at.
I started my own thread regarding them (please excuse my spelling it should be phone not pone!
http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...all-pone-calls
They are well known for these tactics and will try and scare people

Re: mackenzie hall
Do NOT communicate with Mucky Hall in ANY way what so ever.
They specialise in the completely unenforceable and statute barred debt.
Communications only encourages them to make yet more wild demands.
While they may send a doorstepper round, collections in this manner have ZERO legal powers, infact the Pizza Dude has more right to call on you.

Re: mackenzie hall
i missed a phone call last night , it was a local number ,so i called it back and the first thing i heared was a scotish lady say : MACKENZIE HALL , i did not speak and put the phone down straight away , i think they must have a way of using our local exchange to make you answer thinking its a local call unless they have an office in my local town , any way i feel a lot better in myself with the advice so far and will not comunicate at all with them , thank you curlyben and dogtired.

Re: mackenzie hall
Thats what they did to me. Where in the UK are you?!
When and if you get a letter from them ask for proff of the alleged debt, Good templates or you are welcome to copy the one on "my" thread which is one from here anyway!
They are also seem to continue to ignore the requirements laid down by the OFT?

Re: mackenzie hall
Count yourself fortunate the alleged debt has gone to Muck Hall. THats a sure sign its totally UNENFORCEABLE. They are the bottom of the DCA dung heap. They are well known for their bullying tactics. The only way to speak to them is through a medium. You can request a CCA from them but I doubt whether they have anyone employed who can actually read. NEVER ring them and if you mistakenly answer a call from them set the phone on a table and walk away and do something more important such as watching paint dry.
These shysters have NO legal powers whatsoever and employ people to thick to get a job in Macdonalds. They are even scared of a few doughnuts.

Re: mackenzie hall
I have learned from an LB member who has lodged a complaint with OFT Credit Fitness Team recently that the team is currently dealing with a high volume of complaints against bailiffs and DCAs. I wonder if Mucky Hall is one of the DCAs about whom they have received complaints?Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.

Re: mackenzie hall
One from me for a start!
They said the same and that although they cannot deal with individuals they will add mine to the other ongoing complaints, but from the date of the requirements they have had more than enough chances.
The new "tactic seems to be making it seem to be a local number they are calling from

Re: mackenzie hall
Send another complaint, DT, and make OFT Credit Fitness Team aware of this new "tactic" Mucky Hall are using. It may constitute "deceitful methods" which is a breach of OFT Debt Collection Guidelines. There is nothing to stop you making more than one complaint against a bailiff company or DCA to OFT Credit Fitness Team.Originally posted by dogtired View PostOne from me for a start!

Re: mackenzie hall
had automated reply from OFT I had asked them about the phone calls, apparently from a local number, from MacKenzie all but also the other DCA involved in my dispute they do not appear to be registered but as they style them selves solicitors I may have to look elsewhere to complain about them the plot thickensNever give up, Never surrender.
