Hi. Just a quick hello and really pleased to be a member of this board! I currently need advice at the moment. However, I am hoping I can contribute to advice on posts I am knowledgeable on.
Have three teenage daughters. Work full time. Stressed.

many thanks! I suffer with depression as well. I think it is balancing life as a single mum, pressurized job and new problems that crop up! However, I am determined to do one thing.
I want to resolve the debt problems. I would like to wake up one morning and be debt free! I have a dream!

One lesson I have learned. It is so important to have an emergency fund. The reason I have made bad financial decisions is I do not have savings.
I fell into the payday loan cycle. I cannot warn people enough not to touch these sharks!

The other things that it is important to have is a sense of perspective and a sense of humour. When you are battling on your own you can quickly lose these. Working with the good folks on this site will quickly restore you with both.

Watch out for Bill though, he can be a real charmer

But seriously he is one of the most levelled and wisest chaps on the forum. You will find many like him who have such a depth of knowledge that no problem is too great. Each have a back story so you are normally benefiting from experience rather than theoretical advice that you may get elsewhere.

Thank you guys you made me feel so welcome! It is difficult when you are on your own, pressurized job, teenager daughters trying to get out of debt! I have done relatively well. I have cleared quite a few debts. However, there are a few remaining. It is just because I am ill with depression, every time I get a letter from another DCA I feel down again!
Though, I have to say, some of these letters are so ridiculous they are funny! Each DCA possess their own unique style!

Yeah, payday loans have their uses, but their limitations, too, and they can become a trap all too easily. Then, as you say, the DCA's get involved - and indeed they each have their own cute little characters. It can get scary, but with a bit of help and some knowledge, we can stand up to them and get the matter sorted.

Mr Magrew is being unusually kind to me today - 'Charmer' is one of his nicer expletives !!! :tinysmile_kiss_t4:

The problem with payday loans is it is so easy to fall into the recycle trap. You suddenly realize you do not have enough to repay the full amount. Therefore, you pay a ridiculous amount on interest each month.
My greatest regret is not having savings. I know it is not too late to save. However, I am now juggling to make ends meet.
