  • Hi,

    Hi all,

Come across this site on google as today had a call on my home phone from capquest, i refused to give any info about myself over the phone and the guy politely hung up.

i've now found out this is a debt recovery company. Now a little worried after reading horror stories on the internet, i dont want to give them my address if they do not already have it.

    Any help would be great.

    Re: Hi,

Wait and see if they can be bothered to write to you and actually identify what they are after.
You are perfectly within your rights to only converse via letters rather than phone calls.
That way you have time to think and have a good paper trail should the need arise..

        Re: Hi,

Even if they do they have NO legal right to be there.
The Pizza dude has more rights to call on your house than any doorstepper..

            Re: Hi,

No there are bad stories out there about what DCA's have done, but you've come to the right place when it comes to making them act in a lawful and considerate manner..

would it be advisable to send any letters back saying not at this address?

                Re: Hi,

Nope, as that would be debt avoidance and not what this site is about at all.

Wait and see if they can be bothered to write and actually identify the debt in question.

                    Re: Hi,

Better to deal with DCA's head on with statute law rather than a more round about manner.
So make then write to you and read their letters, then respond as needed.
After all if they cannot be bothered to write or even identify the debt then what have you got to say to them??
