  • Just a Hello

    Hello Everyone,

I have just joined the forum and would like to introduce myself.

I'm 27 years old, I am a graduate from Swansea University. I have spent the last 5 years dealing working in finance and particularly claims management firms. I wouldn't class myself as an expert as i have no formal financial or legal qualifications, however i would say that i have taken pretty much everything i have learned and applied in the best way to help people.

I was speaking with one of your regular members yesterday IanM and he suggested i should have a look at the forum and see if i could offer my advice to anyone. So here i am. I wont lie, i'm not particularly good at checking forums, but as this is related to something i do for a living i will try to return frequently.

I wont say which claims management firm i work for, as they would rather you pay for the advice but if I can help you do anything yourself i will try my hardest to assist wherever possible.

So as Dr Nick would say "Hi Everybody"

    Hope to help soon.

    Re: Just a Hello

Hi Markie, and welcome to you. As a uni graduate, I'm sorry to hear that you have had to resort to working for Claims Management Companies. It seems to me that a thorough waste of a uni education is yet another symptom of the mess we are all in, thanks to those who profess to 'lead' us. I hope you eventually find a career in your chosen field. Me? I qualified in electronics years ago (but not at degree level). I got a couple of good jobs in that field - but I ended up as a taxi-driver !!! "The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune," eh ?

So - it was NOT to be - and you turned your able hand to CMC's - we all have to survive, don't we ? Sir - you appear to have placed your cards on the table, rather than slid in 'incognito,' and for that I applaud you. Please, though, be aware that CMC's are NOT seen in a good light by the guys here - so you may well get a bit of a rough ride. There seems to be far too many of them jumping on the PPI bandwagon and scamming people who have already been scammed by the banks. If you are as genuine as you appear, then you would seem to be an exception to the rule. In my book, those who are brave enough to choose the less-trod path have much value - and (fool that I am) I try and give benefit of the doubt, where there is any.

I appreciate what seems to be an open and honest 'declaration of intent,' and if you can help us guys here from 'your side of the counter,' then you will be respected for that......eventually !!! But - buckle up - that respect will be hard-earned !!! Google the name 'Tim Keirman.' He walketh among us.

            Re: Just a Hello

OK I have also just seen your Contact Us message.

If you believe you had PPI with any of your creditors then it is something you can claim back yourself. When did you complete the forms, are you within the cancellation period?

If you do not wish to continue with them you will have to speak with them or write to them at some point, better to do it now rather than later. I know you may be feeling a little worried but no need, you will get all the advice you need here and we are a friendly bunch.:tongue2:

If you have copies of anything you signed then a scanned copy/photograph would be very helpful, if you don't know how to upload it on here you can email it to me julian.siddle@legalbeagles.info

I will move these posts into a thread of your own.

You will need to contact them again and as you asked by email, no, they will not simply go away.

Crazywoman if you have returned the forms signed and the cooling off period has passed then I would read their T&Cs and find out about any penalties they have for cancelling .
