My name is David and i have Joined this forum to try and educate myself on the British legal system, i am at the moment in contact with Brighthouse (Caversham Finance) with regards to adding optional service cover and damage liability insurance to my agreement without my Knowledge,so be prepared for many questions, Thanks for having me

Hi David, and welcome. Yeah, as Leclerc says, it sounds like PPI - a lot of PPI was mis-sold because it was added to accounts without consent or notice. Have a read round the PPI section (via the "PPI" tab at top of page.)

You don't need either insurance,,your home contents covers it,,and everything is covered for the first year at least by the manufacturers warranty. I made a fuss about my account and got it all removed and refunded ( thanks to this brilliant lot) oh,,and if you get told you can only change your contract on a Saturday,,it's complete hogwash
