Gmac mortgages (now Paratus) have (in my opinion) been treating their customers in the most appalling way. GMAC were a sub-prime lender and are therefore mainly dealing with those unable to obtain high street mortgages. They have exploited vulnerable customers for their own commercial gain by repossessing property when there are alternatives, bullying customers into repayment plans they cannot afford, refusing to liaise with their customers in a manner that is constructive rather than punitive, and the list goes on.

This blog has been set up to find out just how bad things are and to see what can be done to stop them. Anyone with prior dealings with GMAC (Paratus) is invited to visit the blog and / or send an email with details of their experience. The aim is to put a stop to these tactics once and for all.

Have a look at the recent case of Paratus AMC Ltd v Countrywide Surveyors Ltd (December 2011). Paratus came in for a lot of criticism from the High Court for their lending practices and procedures. Not directly relevant to your thread, but gives you great detail on how this lender operates.

Well well well, would you believe it. So many Paratus employees used to work for Lehman Brothers. Liquidate UK....again.
