      further ot the point about ppi , some credit cards were sold with life insurance bundled in
      It could be worth checking. There ma evenbe a few quid due to the estate.

        I am not experienced in this but I know when my Uncle died, his loan was cancelled as it was in the terms, so my auntie didn't have to pay.
        She also got grants for being a widow etc.
        But I would encourage her, and with your help. To fight the paying of this debt. The debt was his and not hers, so sending off a death cert. and a letter should be enough to write debt off.
