  • Hi everyone!

Hello, just joined and hoping to find some assistance & maybe in time even offer some in areas in which I'm better versed!

I am dealing with HSBC & their chargeback procedure for a car part which I purchased, was unsuitable, but supplier is refusing to collect or refund for. I paid by Visa debit card.

The supplier originally stated that if the part was unsuitable, they would collect it free of charge, but have since stated it's "outside their warranty period". Obviously I quoted Sale of Goods Act, but to no avail.

HSBC now saying I must have evidence that I have tried to return the item, but we're talking paying £50 for a courier to get the part from Somerset to Glasgow & HSBC have stated that money is my loss & can't be reclaimed unless I want to pursue the supplier for it.

I read somewhere that under the Visa chargeback scheme, the consumer should not end up being financially out of pocket, so if anyone has any clarification on this I'd be really grateful - HSBC not being very helpful at all.

    Many thanks
    Ali
