Dear Friends-in-need-of-community-support,
I have been contesting a parking fine with Wiltshire Council (I appealed twice) regarding an alleged offense in October 2009. During my first and only visit to Salisbury 3 of us rented a cottage with 'free' street parking since the landlady gave me a book of vouchers for residential parking. However there was one voucher short and on the final day I went on a goose chase in the town centre to purchase a ticket only to finally be told that the only place to purchase (Council Offices) were closed on a Saturday. On reaching my car again, there was the ticket. My gripe is that there had been no means of purchasing a ticket for that residential location.
Unfortunately the landlady would not respond when I contacted her to verify my story, although I can prove that I stayed in her house. Equita have been sending me removal notices for months. Do I have grounds for legal representation against WCC or any other means of defending myself?
Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
