mackenzie hall write to me in my maiden name and have no idea of any contact details for me? Do they actually make debts up?

MUCK HALL go through old electoral lists picking people with similar sounding names to their victims. They then do a mass mail threat letter in the hope that someone will be foolish enough to fall for their scam.

The only good thing about Muck Hall buying your alleged debt is that it has reached the end of the DCA dung heap. There really are very few companies any lower that would purchase their useless unenforceable debts. As CB says sit tight. They will soon slither back under the stone from whence they came.

They are the laughing stock of their shoddy industry

im on income support and due to ill health i had to finish work i had a letter off mucky hall last thursday say could you contact us urgently which i did by my mistake i cant stop worrying about ever since they have phoned me twice both time on the night time when i phoned up the first time they said i owed sow and sow......... but im sure its its been over 6 year now since i made a last payment so im sure its a barred debt
i dont no what to do as cant afford to pay it back and if its barred i shouldnt have to should i just ignore the phone calls and the letter s going out my mind with worry since last week this is old debt from old my old old address.

On a brighter note however the fact that muck hall are now chasing means that you have reached the bottom of the DCA dung heap so the alleged debt is certainly unenforceable

Just a heads up guys, but it seems they are not they bottom of the pile anymore, as they have lately been selling on debts they can not get money for to MMI (Motormile Finance) Owned by a Barnaby Page. I had to explain to them muppets that YES the lack a DN ment they can not enforce and that it does not make the assignment unlawful, just they can not enforce it in court.

Basically they do not have much of an idea about the legalitys surrounding consumer debts, so their amatuers.

If your certain its statute barred then send them the Statute barred letter :-

Dear Sir/Madam

Acc/Ref No 4563210025897412 - edit to suit

You have contacted us regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed by ourselves.

I do not acknowledge oweing any debt to your company, nor have i ever entered any contract or had any association with your company.

We would point out that under the limitation act 1980 Section 5 “an action founded on simple contract shall not be brought after the expiration of six years from the date on which the cause of action accrued.”

We would also point out that the OFT say under their debt collection Guidance on statute barred debt that “it is unfair to pursue the debt if the debtor has heard nothing from the creditor during the relevant limitation period”.

The last payment of this alleged debt was made over six years ago and no further acknowledgement or payment has been made since that time. Unless you can provide evidence of payment or written contact from us in the relevant period under Section 5 of the Limitation Act, we suggest that you are no longer able to take any court action against us to recover the alleged amount claimed. I would also like to see what proof of absolute assignment under the section 136 Law of Property Act 1925 you have, that gives you legal ownership of this debt considering i have never heard of yourselves since you started sending me unsolicited demands.

The OFT Debt Collection Guidance states further that “continuing to press for payment after a debtor has stated that they will not be paying a debt because it is statute barred could amount to harassment contrary to CPUTR2008

We await your written confirmation that this matter is now closed and that no further contact will be made concerning the above account after that last letter.

We look forward to your reply.

Thats not the worse of it, they will forget you have told them that license to come on to your property is revoked and start threatening again, they will also forget that you told them that phone calls will be deemed harassement, and they will use such phone calls to ask you if you directly if you acknowledge the debt and in my case threatened to report me to fraud squad for fraud in order to enforce the debt. I said you do and i'll sue your asses for libel, blackmail (afterall thats what there threat was) and criminal harassment - I back it up with a formal legal notice to Barnaby accompanied with a section 10 DPA notice. Not had a response or heard a whimper from them since.

Ohh and thats not to mention they emails some demanding you pay them and contact them, others offering online discont - click to see how much you wil save kind of crap.

If it was me I would ignore them. They eventually will get bored and crawl back under their stone. Before they do they will send you a load of empty threats, silly text messages to both your home phone and mobile. A couple of silly requests that look like pay cheques.

That's my view. You can of course send them the Stat Barred letter but they will probably just ignore them.

As regards court. The only time Muck Hall will see the inside of a court will be as defendants.

I don't know if you have been watching that programme about a housing estate in Kilmarnock called The Scheme but I suspect this is were Muck Hall recruit their highly trained telephone threat monkeys from

Hi Guys, got another letter, this time from IND Ltd (regarding debt I mentioned above) , same story if I wont pay in 14 days they will take me to court. Has anyone dealt with them before? As I can't find any info about them?
