Hi, I have just joined and trying to find my way round, I am having call after call from Fredrickson International which I don't answer and they have started sending texts to my home phone. They say they are acting on behalf of Capital one, I am in difficulty with them mainly because of charges they keep putting on my account. I have been regularly paying £25.00 a month when with all they charges they want more than £50.00 a month, as a pensioner I just can't pay that. The one time I did speak with them I said I have to make priorities like food, heating and rent, they replied they are a priority. I have a disabled husband (stroke) and we get pension credit which should tell them the story. When I was working I was never in arrears with credit card, am trying to make an appointment with CAB.

Re: winglady
You are doing exactly the right thing paying your priority bills first, and they are definitely NOT a priority. Why don't you write to them explaining your situation and offering a payment that you can both afford and sustain in the long term. Say you will only deal in writing from now on for the avoidance of doubt, and explain that you have to pay your priority bills first. Ask them, if they think they are a priority bill as they said on the telephone, to please put this in writing for you.
Meanwhile you will continue to pay £x.xx per month and that is the end of the matter as far as you are concerned. You look forward to receiving their letter confirming that all interest and charges on the account have been frozen.
Above all, don't worry - they cannot take what you haven't got, and don't leave yourselves short because of them.
