  • Hello - I'm looking for help

    Hello all,

I came across this site while searching the internet for ideas on how to get my finances on track and how to get this £4k credit card debt under control. I guess when you get to a point when you can’t sleep at night and you feel physically sick when you look and bank and credit card statements it’s the time to hold your hands up and say help !!

So I’ve taken that first step by registering here, I’ll start to browse through the debt management section and see how things go. Once I get a feel for things I’ll post more. In the meantime if anyone has any general advice, I’m all ears.

    Thanks in advance

Hello Lanzo and welcome to Beagles, by all means have a read around the site and if you need any help finding what you are looking for just give a shout.
Very wise to seek help instead of burying your head in the sand, I am sure when you read what others have come through you will be able to sleep a lot better too, knowing your not the only one.

On credit card statements look for any payments for credit card protection or income protection relating directly to the payment of the card. Cancelling it will mean that the amount you are able to pay towards it will be more beneficial than having the cover in the first place.

Thanks Enaid, my head has been buried for in the sand for too long, but hey, just posting here has eased the sick feeling at the pit of my stomach. Next step is to actually do my I and E spreadsheet, I've been avoiding that for too long and just winging my way through each month.

        Thanks again

Well done Lanzo for taking this first and hardest step! I buried my head for over five years and couldn't even work out how much I owed to whom for ages. I used to be physically sick returning home after a break as I was so scared of the post and like you had the sleepless nights. Though I still have a lot of debt I sleep like a baby and quite look forward to the post each day. You've come to the right place and believe me you'll feel a huge amount better in yourself soon for facing up to this.

Keep up the good work, and any questions just ask away!
