  • Hi Everyone

    From deepest West Cornwall.

I have a small problem with an overcharge to my credit card by an hotel. (This was arranged for me by an agent). I registered to see if any thread could point me in the general direction of the laws surrounding this area.

Many thanks and good day to all.

    Re: Hi Everyone

Since you used a credit card, you may issue a claim against your card issuer, as they have joint and several liability with the merchant, in this case, the hotel, provided that the transaction qualifies.

See here for more details. http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...ad.php?t=18219

Failing that, the Payment Services Regulations 2009 will cover you, provided that you make the claim within 28 days of the overcharge.
