    A friend of mine was at a service area and stayed for 2hours and 10 minutes, he has received a bill for £50 for overstaying 10 minutes, a sign it says 2 hours only , any comments?????

    I assuming private parking firm here, if so file it.
    They have no legal grounds for bringing action as they rely on an implied contract.

    Of course if it's a proper TMA related PCN then pay up pronto.

      Have a look here for various PPC letter-chains:

      Yours may not be among them but as you will see they are all pretty similar.

      The easiest and most effective way of dealing with them is to ignore everything they send you.

      After 3 or 4 ever more threatening letters they will eventually go away

          Traffic Management Act and Penalty Charge Notice.

          If your friend's fine was from a private parking firm then he would have received an invoice and you have no obligation to pay it.
