  • RCI finance

Hi all, I bought and took delivery of a new (second hand) Nissan car last Tuesday with credit by RCI finance. I haven't paid anything yet but can I cancel the agreement and pay by bank loan instead? Isn't there a cooling off period for these sorts of agreements? Since I signed the agreement I've heard horror stories about RCI finance and would now rather just get a bank loan and pay cash for the car. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately as the Agreement has been signed on the premises, you do not have the option to cancel.

Great news, they said that the signature on my driving licence (it's 35 years old.....) doesn't match the signature on my application and could they have a copy of my passport signature. So I asked them if the agreement was in force yet being as they can't have signed it. Er no, they said. In that case cancel it I said. But but but they said. It is now cancelled. Well it was never in force anyway but you know what I mean..............an actual result.
