Hi all I am new on here.I have been having some problems with Abbey of late.A few months ago I paid my credit card bill in full(i only use it for purchasing programmes for my pc where my Maestro card can't be used).Later I received a statement but with a £12 charge.I contacted Abbey asking why, and was told that it was probably due to the postal strike, and that I should pay my bills a.s.a.p. Abbey then waivered the £12 fee.My next bill came in and I paid it the next day by cheque. Can you actually believe that it took best part of 3 weeks to reach Abbey, and get cleared? Well it did, and I got another £12 late payment fee.Needless to say, I wasn't very happy as I sent the cheque in plenty of time.I therefore cut the Abbey card up, and put in a letter saying that abbey should get another mail delivery company.I requested they don't send me any more cards, or correspondence and that they remove me from their mailing list. The letter was sent on monday. It was received at Abbey today.Amazing how fast they can actually receive the mail.I can only guess that Abbey are playing dirty tricks by receiving their customers bills within a few days, but holding onto the payments for say a week or 10 days or so, then making out that the payment is late.Any one else had problems with these bunch of clowns recently???

No, but have you claimed that last £12 back from them or they might charge you again or have they closed the card account and refunded the £12?

A Warm welcome to legal beagles as well.
