Hi I'm new today and looking for advice on what to expect at a case management conference. We are being taken to court by a company who worked at our house. One of their employees who was already a convicted burglar stole stuff from us. He was convicted and sent to prison. The company left the job unfinished and then invoiced us for 40% more than we expected a month later. We had already paid half of the amount we were expecting from the original agreement. They have, since issuing court proceedings, agreed the job is unfinished and doesn't meet building regulations. We asked for ADR 8 months ago and the other party refused. They have offered to drop the case if we drop our counterclaim for our losses. We have said that would be okay if they replace one window that doesn't open and give us the guarantee for the work we should have had. We have a CMC on Thursday.
