Gatwick KFC unvalidated exit PCN Ticket

Hi, I have been sent a Gatwick KFC parking ticket for not validating the pass before exiting though the driver did not over stayed the 60 mins allowed and in-fact spent about 20 mins, bought food worth over £60.00 to entertain the family at the KFC. On the way out, the barrier did not open and after a second or third attempt, a smiling face flash up and the driver pressed it and few weeks later, I got this PCN letter? please, advise is urgently needed and soonest. thank you

could you please post up a copy of the parking charge notice you have received, first removing identifying details such as name, address, vehicle & pcn numbers.
