I am just doing some research and wanted to ask if anyone out there had gone to a newspaper and told them their story? For example they had had a legal dispute of some kind and turned to the Press for help. Did they use a Press Agency, contact a journalist directly or just a newspaper? How did they get on?

Yes, about 10 years ago directly to the Weekend Telegraph consumer help page.

The issue was about a well known bank restricting access to cash. The letter was actually published, caused great embarrassment to the bank and an
amendment to their terms and conditions.

Apologies were made and published and the local community gained a defibrillator.
