Criminal Damage

Hello everyone, following an argument with my wife I was arrested for criminal damage to a stud wall. The damage was a dent that I have no recollection of causing yet I have been charged and bailed for it. What should I expect?

To add further context the dent is around the size of an old 50 pence piece. My wife is my only accuser but we'd both had a small drink to see in the new year.

I'm the main council tennant, but I am unsure if I caused it.

If this is as you say it may well be a C2 category so a fine plus costs plus surcharge. However you will have a criminal record. You can of course plead not guilty and try to prove you did not do it? A trial will possibly not take place for at least 12 months though given backlogs. Perhaps go and see a solicitor - most give free 30mins advice.
