  • Empira notice

    Hello ,
I am NHS health care worker and had parking permit for years paid through salary to park on private land car park near the hospital , last year after long term sickens I returned to work ( I still paid for my parking permit even though I was not using it for 6 weeks) , had to purchase another car as my was beyond repair and forgot to register my new reg with parking team( I’ve had loads of personal issues going on ) I also had to move at short notice , by Christmas I received PCN from Horizon - appealed with Popla but lost . As soon as I realised I registered for updated permit but by then 3 more fines were issued but I had already moved so I never knew of them .The land lady apparently sent letters back to senders , Horizon issued final notice but posted to old address again even though the other PCN letters returned saying not at this address , if they researched with DVLA they would’ve got my new address then. Empira sent letters to my old address too. The fine is now £495 , my only mistake was not changing my reg with parking team quickly enough , it was still me in different car still paying for my permit every month. I also park there around 16 times more before realising but received 4 fines , its camera controlled car park. Do I let this go to court in hope the judge will see the human site of this ? I can’t afford the sum but am I risking ending up paying more if I lose ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance for taking time to read my post.

Your easiest course of action i to contact your employer and ask them to order the parking management company to cancel the charges.(they are NOT fines)

    However you mention "Empira".
They are enforcement agents, so I wonder if the matter has already been to court, and a default judgment been entered.
Could you post up a copy of the letter Empira sent you (first removing your name Address and any reference numbers.
