hi i am in urgent need of help about three months ago i had a visit from rossendales about unpaid council tax i didn let them in but was told if i paid 75 per week they would back off so i managed to make the first payment then i wrote to them asking for it to be reduced they say they did not recieve the letter i made another payment of 30 and now on thurs another bailiff came to my house demanding i pay 957 baring in mind the bill was for 770 they have said if i dont pay it by tom morning they are coming to take my stuff someone please help me

As you have not previously allowed them entry to your property they will not be able to remove your goods, so they can threaten all they like.
You do need to pay something towards these arrears regularly and preferably to the council concerned rather than the bailiff. The council will no doubt tell you they cannot deal with you or the account any longer as it is now in the hands of the bailiff, but this is not true.
Pay the council directly and regularly.

A very warm welcome to Legal Beagles.
I personally cannot help you with ther bailiff issue, but it does sound like you may be in financial hardship.
As Enaid said we will need some more info.
Can you also advise if you have bank charges that you have not yet claimed. It will not help with your immediate problem, but under the FSA waiver for hardship we can try and help you. Are you also behind with any other bills, Rent, Utilities etc.
