  • RESTON & INTRUM (making lives of others miserable)

    Dear all,

Sometime in June 2025, I received a letter from Reston. The beginning of their letter stated "Client: Intrum UK Ltd" plus the balance owed to
Intrum. They never stated if Intrum had asked them (Reston) to represent their (Intrum) interests or when they were asked. Reston carried on in their letter stating the
balance of £2,100 remaining, and they stated some options I could choose from, to pay back. The following week, I received another letter, repeating the same
texts, but stating the balance owed is now £3,000. I was confused how could this be? In the space of one week, the balance owed has jumped
    almost a thousand pounds!

In the first instance, my remaining balance to Intrum was much less than the £2,100 earlier stated by Reston. Also, I had an arrangement with
Intrum to pay a certain amount monthly into the account. Although I hadn't paid into the account in a few months, I was never contacted by Intrum
that they will be passing my account to another company, and neither has Intrum voided the current arrangement I had with them.

By the way, I did a minimal web search on Reston. Nothing good was said about them. One person, on the web, wrote that he contacted them to
tell them of his current family situation, and the Reston staff he spoke to, replied "... I don't care what is happening to you, I just want your
money ..." And, when I searched for Mr Christopher John Reston, the founder of Reston Solicitors, I saw that he "holds 4 appointments at 4 active
companies, has resigned from 10 companies and held 8 appointments at 8 dissolved companies." [https://companycheck.co.uk/director/...ESTON/summary].
And their name is in the Paradise Papers, https://offshoreleaks.icij.org/nodes/80049298 .
Mr Christopher John Reston is posing as a solicitor, but they are piling on miseries onto others.

Please help. What should I do? First, I never received any letter from Intrum that my current arrangement with them is voided. (2) How come
Reston are suddenly sending letters to me (I know that both Restons and Intrum are in cahoots with one another to make people's lives a misery)?
    (3) How did a balance of £2100 suddenly jump to £3000 in a week? (4) How to make sure I continue with my current arrangements with Intrum?

Thanks everybody, and Looking forward to your advice.

    Larry.

    Hi Larry102

    Welcome to LB

    Try not to worry.

    a) Send / email a letter of complaint to Intrum, describe the issues, the distress it's caused you and what
you want them to do. Follow the complaints procedure on their website.

    complaintsin@intrum.co.uk

If the complaint is found in your favour, then you may get compensation.

You'll find that Reston's will back off.

    b) Send / email a SAR request, make sure you get Proof of Postage.

    https://legalbeagles.org/library/gui...ccess-request/

Reston is on the Law Society's database.

Update when you get a response.

Hi echat11 , thanks once again. I was wondering, shall I send the SAR request to both Intrum and Reston's ? Thanks much. Larry

I would just send it to Intrum, they should have all the facts you seek.
