We recently bought a second hand iphone which we were assured was in "perfect working order", both in a message and verbally. The phone had been erased and we did a basic setup on it and then ran through a series of operational tests to make sure all the buttons, cameras and speakers worked ok. All appeared fine. We got home, did a backup of the old phone and restore onto the new phone only to find that the device was "Snapchat banned". We've raised a support call with Snapchat and also messaged the buyer who wanted nothing to do with the issue, claiming it wasn't Snapchat banned and the money is now gone. If a phone is in good working order, and sold as such, is it misrepresentation if the seller did not disclose that the actual device was banned from a specific and much used app?

There is also the question of whether being Snapchat banned is a fault with the phone if the phone is technically capable of installing Snapchat but the Snapchat app owners refuse to allow it.All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.

Yes, that was my concern as well - because the phone is absolutely fine, but does the fact that the physical phone is banned constitute a problem with the phone according to legislation?Originally posted by PallasAthena View PostThere is also the question of whether being Snapchat banned is a fault with the phone if the phone is technically capable of installing Snapchat but the Snapchat app owners refuse to allow it.

Please read the article "Snapchat banned your phone? Why and how to reverse the ban?" at www.imentality.com
Sounds as if it is a temporary ban (max 6 months) and there may be ways of lifting the ban
You could try emailing Snapchat and explain what has happened

Thank you for that - we've already emailed Snapchat, both support and the CEO! Didn't know about the site though, so I'll have a look - much appreciated, thank you again.Originally posted by Pezza54 View PostPlease read the article "Snapchat banned your phone?
