I attended a remote hearing on Tuesday 22nd April along with my ex (who is in Spain) to try and recover the money he took from me last year. I had no idea just how I was going to struggle and still am. I submitted bank statements along with my income and expenditure, my ex also submitted his income and expenditure. The judge never touched on my financial situation but seemed to be totally supportive of my ex. I get the impression he is trying to manipulate everything to his benefit.i am waiting for my ex's paperwork to arrive in the post, when it does I will go through it with a fine tooth comb. The hearing was only for 30 minutes, the judge said she would need more time to get to the bottom of the situation. Things were on the verge of getting nasty fortunately they didn't. Rosie500

What was the purpose of the hearing - from what you say it may have been for case management.
What was the outcome?
What advice do you seek?Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

You would have done better to post this as a continuation of one of your previous threads about this case. That said, my above questions still apply.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

The case is about the considerable reduction in maintenance payments.Originally posted by atticus View PostWhat was the purpose of the hearing - from what you say it may have been for case management.

At the hearing last year my ex said he required £425 of my maintenance payment back, this would have left me with very little. This situation is causing me both emotional and financial distress.
I don't know what is happening at the moment, I am waiting for my ex's paperwork which I will go through with a fine tooth comb. The judge at the hearing on Tuesday seemed to think that it could be difficult to sort out the payments as it is over a year It was quite some time before I felt the full impact of the reduction. I never thought it was going to get this bad where I cannot afford to go to the supermarket and pay for my shopping with my debit card, instead I have to use Zilch or Clearpay. I feel there is a lot of deception going on with my ex.
Is there any particular way I should respond to the court. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why is this being heard via civil court? Has CMS helped/hindered at all?"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012

The matter is being heard at the County Court. I have no idea who else could deal with it. I thought everything had been sorted out 3 years ago (thats what thought did) At the hearing last year the judge was fully on my ex's side, he had no qualms about the amount of money my ex wanted to take from me. If my ex had had his way he would have left me with very little. The judge said that 30 minutes was not long enough to get to the bottom of the situation. Unfortunately I lot my connection just before the end of the hearing whether the judge has scheduled another hearing I won't know until I receive my ex's paperwork from the court. Something is definitely "off". My situation is not good. I knew my ex would be a tough nut to crack but not this bad. I think it is about time the judges woke up and smelled the coffee.

I attended a remote hearing on Monday 14th July with my ex. Something doesn't "sit" right, the hearing in 2024 he told the judge it was about tax, what tax I don't know. The next hearing he stated it was about living expenses, now on Monday he is back to this mysterious tax. He said the company were paralegals, none of this makes any sense. I feel he is hiding behind a cloak of excuses, which he used to take about half of my maintenance payment. It seems quite clear to me that he waited for things to settle down after the hearing in 2020, he had no intention of accepting the judge's ruling from that hearing, he didn't like it that I got the arrears under the court order and also got the proper payments I should have got in the first place. I believe he is lying about his situation. The tax he keeps on about is a new thing he has brought up. I have no idea what the purpose of this alleged tax is. Any enlightenment on this would be appreciated. My own feeling is this is something he has thought up. Rosie 500.

I feel my ex is hiding behind a facade of excuses to justify his actions.
Hearing in 2024 his excuse was tax.
April's hearing it was day to day living expenses.
Last hearing he is back to tax again. He said something about paralegals and stating it is quite dear! I have no idea what my ex is talking about. I do not know what paralegals have to do with tax. The only tax I know he pays is tax on his company pension. I feel he is trying to deceive the court.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Rosie500
