  • Use of name in small claims court Bill or William

Hello and sorry for 2 posts in one day but a slightly different issue. My husband is called Bill but his 'official' (birth certificate) name is William. I have just noticed that he logged his claimant details as 'Bill' (all the correspondence is also in this name, it is the name he always uses everyday and I am not sure why I didn't spot this before as he would normally be 'William' for banking etc). Is this going to be an issue and if so can we solve it?

Please read Practice Direction 16 - Statements of Case
    In particular 2.4 and 2.4 (1)
"for an individual, the full name and title by which the person is known"
If your husband is known as Bill, then Mr Bill xxxxxxxx is okay
