Hi all. I stupidly shoplifted from primark. Got caught, they took my details driving license ect- said I would get a fine. I’ve received the letter before claim.. they’ve spelt my surname wrong lol. I’ve read that I should ignore them, however I am a registered professional and concerned re this. Would it be wise for me to pay it? Thanks so much. From what I’ve seen it is the typical first letter. Thank you

    Hi Petal7682

    Welcome to LB

What you've received is not a 'fine', it's a 'speculative' invoice. The costs stated in the 'speculative' invoice are covered in their business model, i.e. security etc. I take it the 'goods' were returned, there was no 'actual loss'.

Ignore all letters they send, update the thread if you receive a Court Claim, you won't, as they lost a case in the past.

If you are struggling financially there are many organisations that can help you.
