  • Unenforceable debt - please advise

After being on a DMP with Payplan for probably 20 years I have finally decided to try and deal with my debts. I have written to my creditors - Link and NCO (formerly Vanquis) asking for a copy of the CCA. I have received letters from both stating that they cannot provide this. Link have informed me that the debt is unenforceable but still collectable. My understanding is that I can stop paying. Is this correct and if so do I need to notify them?

    Hi CJS1968

    Welcome to LB

The debt are 'unenforceable', you can stop payments, unless they can provide compliant Agreements under the CCA 1974. You don't need to inform them, but I'm fairly sure they'll enquire why payments has stopped.
