  • In the process of redundancy and seen my position advertised before final decision

    Hi

I will explain something I feel to be pretty unfair treatment by my employer

I was unexpectedly called in to a meeting with HR & the MD on Jan 14th, I was told that it was a “At Risk” meeting as the company was making the Partnerships Manager position redundant and merging the role’s responsibilities into the Schedulling team and I was placed on Gardening Leave for a week, I had a short meeting after Gardening Leave last week to see if an alternative could be found.. All available roles at the company were in another department and unsuitable. After the meeting I thought I would write an email covering my achievements over the last year and the benefits that the Partnerships Manager role brings to the company, I was told this would be reviewed and I would get a call from HR on the decision on the position on Monday afternoon. I have now seen today that the Marketing Director has placed the Partnerships Manager role on LinkedIn a day before I have had the redundancy call and whilst I’m still in the position. Surely a national broadcaster can’t treat staff like this?

Where you still employed when the position was advertised?

If this the exact same terms under which you were operating as Partnerships Manager?

This happened today, I have seen the post on LinkedIn for the Partnerships Manager role posted by the Marketing Director and I have not had my final meeting (scheduled for tomorrow) with HR telling me the decision on the position’s redundancy yet

I would suggest that you take a screen shot of the LinkedIn advert for the position showing the date it was posted as being in the consultation period and have that with you for the meeting with HR.

Another question, how long have you been employed?
