  • Parking Contravent Code: 62. Barking and Dagenham Council.

Hi, I need some advice on this and I have received a parking ticket for parking on this road
    https://maps.app.goo.gl/E2wXV7WAY7KetCDe7
The contravention states that "Parked with one or more wheels on or over a footpath or any part of a road other than the carriageway".
On this road everyone has been parking half car on curb since always as you can see on google street view.

Above is the images taken by the warden.
As you can see I an not obstructing any driveway.
Do I have the right grounds to challenge this PCN?

As this is a council Penalty Charge Notice I recommend you also post this on the Free Traffic Legal Advice site https://www.ftla.uk/ as they have a number of posters there with a lot of knowledge and experience of these types of PCN.

From my limited knowledge of the law on pavement parking in Greater London it is not relevant whether or not the parking causes an obstruction. I can't open the warden photograph to see how close your car was to the fence but if was as close as the car shown when you open the google link likely would an obstruction because it appears to be parked too close to the fence to allow a wheelchair user to get past without going into the road.
All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.
