My neighbours garden is 30cms higher than mine in most places, considerably more where steps in my garden lead to the rear lower level. They are planning to replace fencing at the rear and a well established privet hedge at the front with fencing, which they say will be higher than existing.
I am concerned that removing the hedge may cause damage to my garden should the soil collapse when the hedge is dug out. Would the neighbour be responsible should any such damage occur?
If the replacement fences exceed permitted height (1 metre at front, 2 metres at rear?), is that a matter for a complaint to the council or directly via a solicitor?
Thank you
