  • bus gate

There must be a rule or law that states what new features or regulations are.
Doesn't seem right that you can come from another region,,not having even heard of a bus gate, and fail to stop and study a bus lane notice thereby passing through an imaginary gate.
This must be another trick to fleece law abiding motorists.
can no legal body take this up ?

Yes it is a way to fleece motorists. We were caught out by it in Manchester along with hundreds of others. I appealed but when that was refused I would have had to take another trip to photograph poor signage etc and could not be bothered so paid up...

There is a relevant section in the Highway Code (with which all motorists are supposed to be au fait !!)

Regulations regarding bus lane and bus gates can be found here: https://assets.publishing.service.go...chapter-03.pdf
      Sec 9 starting page 91

A good reason for staying out of cities or only using taxis or public transport
