  • Fast track reclaim ! Need I say more?

Hi, I’m very new to the legal beagles and after reading through the threads over the past couple of hours, it concerns me how these Companies continue to get away with their scare mongering, threats and harassment. I too am currently going through a seriously stressful matter with Fast Track reclaim. They just won’t leave me alone. They’ve now sent me a 24 hour notice to pay £1k before county court takes place.
To summarise, this started after I received a tax refund owed to me from HMRC in 2024.
my latest successful PPI claim, just for reference, was over 7 years ago (with a Co. I don’t recall). Fast track reclaim? I just can’t remember.
I received an email in Jan 24 from fast track saying I was owed a PPI tax refund from a previously successful PPI claim.
11 months later, dozens of letters back and forth, fast track reclaim are trying to claim back nearly 50% of my tax refund paid directly to me from HMRC! It just makes your blood boil. Threatening a county court judgement. Everyone (family/friends) says ignore them but I’ve done no wrong.
I have recently found out , from Fast track, that I was given the T&Cs ON SCREEN… YES, ON SCREEN, when I originally agreed to them assisting with a PPI claim. If (and it’s only a IF) I did use them, this was prior to 2017. What on earth gives them to right to take nearly 50% of MY tax overpayment more than 7 years later. I have written to HMRC and they’ve even said fast track aren’t entitled to any of my tax overpayment, but fast track just ignore this saying I signed the contract so tough!
There’s a lot more to it but their bullying tactics is shocking, worrying and giving me sleepless nights. If I had the money I’d counter sue for the harassment and stress. I don’t need this, especially at this time of year! I do hope to read more positive results from you who are in a similar situation. These mindless Companies should be closed down. Anyone who hasn’t read this, read the Guardian article from May 2023. Fast track reclaim SHOULD be shut down! Thank you for reading my first post. Merry Christmas.

    Hi Tazeb

    Welcome to LB

Update if you get 'meaningful' documents through i.e. Court claim etc.

Have a read through the following:-

That is very kind, thank you. I received 3 messages on Monday via text and email stating legal action and additional costs will be incurred if I don’t pay IMMEDIATELY. I am, therefore expecting them to send further threats imminently. Thank you for your very quick reply.

Make a note of the calls / letters and texts etc. Keep a diary.

If they persist, you may have a claim against them for 'harassment' under the Prevention from Harassment Act 1997.

Once again that is very helpful. I was advised (by family) to block them as every time I received a message, it caused even more anxiety but I decided to keep them to prove the level of contact. Thank you
