  • Will problems

hI, I'm 80 years old and my partner of 40 years and I weren't married. After years of working as a legal secretary and drafting many Wills I thought I knew enough to draft our Wills but since he has now died last week I have hit one problem after another. Not only have I found out that I may have inadvertently set up a Trust Fund instead of him leaving everything to me absolutely but also that my name got removed from our "tenants in common" property when it was remortgaged and I am not even on it. I really, really need some expert advice here so if you could point me in the right direction I would be very relieved.
    Thank you xx

You do seem to have got into a mess. Won't your old firm help you?
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Unfortunately, as I worked there in the 1970s and most of the partners were considerably older than me they are all gone or in retirement now. Thanks for your message though. Can you tell me why my post was rejected? I didn't mention any names or traceable details.

In that case, you need to see a solicitor.
