So as the title suggests have been a member for 3 months currently going through financial difficulty and went to give in my notice which was explained to me as 1 month. I get an email saying i'm in a 12 month contract which was an absolute shocker. The sales rep at the center never explicity stated so and was constantly talking while i was signing the documents on their tablet so was feeling under pressure and didnt read. She only was saying 'sign here normal t's&c's'. She told me about the 1 month cancellation notice and was under the impression the worst I will lose out on is the joining up fee.
I would never have signed up if I knew it was a 12 month contract.
I've received an email from them that they consider I am not going through financial hardship and therefore will not cancel my membership. That is not the point - i didn't know I was signing up for 12 months.
