I have today received a letter from Cabot Financial stating i owe a debt on a store card which was owed as of February 2004. I have made no payment against this debt as i did not know it was outstanding, i have never been chased for it. I am unsure how i proceed with them as 20 years seems a long time. (i am pretty certain any debt i had form this period was paid off due to receiving a divorce settlement)

Send the statute barred letter: https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...ed-debt-letter
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
