  • penalty charge for nhs prescriptions help plzzz

hi can anyone help plz i have just received a fine for nhs prescriptions. i claim universal credit as my wages are low and normally for the last 2 years i have received free prescriptions. but ive just been told that in november last year (2023) i was entitled to them. After looking online ive just found out that i was £11.35 over the limit on my wages for that month. i cant afford the fine and want to challenge it but what can i do plz?. it was a genuine mistake and the chemist always fills out the prescription have done since covid so i dont tick boxes or sign for it. thanks

    Hi Bexy

    Welcome to LB

    Does the following help you?

    https://covadvice.org.uk/wp-content/..._challenge.pdf

Appeal, explain what's happened, that it's 'unfair', explain your personal circumstances,
explain that you won't be able to buy essentials like food etc. because of the Penalty Charge.
Explain that it's never happened before.
