  • Banned from my local Asdas

I forgot to pay for my fuel at asdas Barnstable fuel court twice, once on Christmas eve because i had a lot on that day, I payed the same day. The next time it happened I wasn't sure if i did or did not pay. Anyway on the second time, some time had passed and was classed as a drive off. I went to fill up and the pump wouldn't work and the ladies in side at the garage tills called me in to tell me what was going on. I was skeptical and was asking for proof in the most professional and courteous but stern way possible in fear I was being taken for a ride. I did not swear nor was abusive to the ladies in anyway. However I payed and carried on. I have since bought fuel at the pump using my card and shopped a few times. Although tonight 26/1/2024 half an hour before closing I went shopping, I did my shop and proceeded to walk out and the security guard pulled me aside with the other chaps working for asdas basically told me that during my skeptical time on the second time I forgot to pay - was told that I was abusive to the ladies in there when I was not. I merely challenged them on my not paying for my fuel, never swore at them or made them feel uncomfortable or belittled in anyway, although I had this security guard tell me that I was being abusive and that I am now banned from the asdas site for three years. I have not done anything to warrant a ban, please can you advise me

    Welcome to LB

Have you been given anything in writing by Asda?

Send ASDA a Subject Access Request, ask for CCTV footage make sure you get Proof of Postage -

    https://legalbeagles.info/library/gu...ccess-request/

Avoid ASDA until it's sorted out.

You then need to lodge a Formal Complaint with ASDA via their Head Office.

Do as advised above, but to answer one question Asda stores are private premises and Asda are entitled to ban anyone from their shops if they choose to.
