  • Damage caused by neighbours neglect of their property

My brother's neighbour's do not live in their house. Their window are broken an hanging open some are boarded up.

We have told them that their house is causing damage to my brother's house making it damp. My brother is a carer for his sick sister. Can we legally make them keep their house in a better codition

    Hi JANINESUSAN

    Welcome to LB

What you can do is contact the Council, ask for Environmental Health in the first instance as their is a health & safety issue, i.e. damp, mould etc. The Council can act to make sure repairs are carried out. Do all of this in writing via email so you have a paper trail.

Then update the thread with what they say.
