  • Consumer Law on Earrings

    Hi,

I'm in the process of setting up a website selling handmade earrings. I am becoming a bit unstuck when it comes to offering returns and refunds on earrings. I have conflicting views of hygiene issues (though can't find anything official that pierced earrings are exempt) and consumer law with the rights to ask for a refund. I would obviously offer a refund if the item was faulty or arrived damaged. My issue is I currently do not package my earrings up with a seal and I would rather not as it isn't very eco-friendly and goes against the ethos of my brand supplying additional packaging and things that wouldn't be able to be recycled.
I would love to know what the law is on this so I know my rights and the rights of the consumer

    Many thanks.

    Hi CORK102

    Welcome to LB

I think you'll have to look for different packaging for the earrings, so they are sealed as the consumer has rights to return the earrings if faulty etc.
